The protocol states under "Euthanasia" that animals will be sacrificed under ketamine/xylazine anesthesia. However, in the "Induction of Colitis" section, it states animals will be "euthanized in a CO2 chamber" post-colitis induction, which is chronologically incorrect and creates significant confusion.

The Researcher needs to clarify the terminal procedure. The acceptable method is terminal anesthesia overdose (ketamine/xylazine) followed by an approved secondary physical method (e.g., cervical dislocation or exsanguination) to ensure death. All references to CO2 euthanasia at the time of colitis induction must be removed, as it is incorrect for the described
