Does This Protocol Involve The Use Of Substances That May Pose Any Health Risk To Humans? His answer is no , Although the tick they transmit serious illnesses, including Lyme disease, Rocky Mountain spotted fever, and alpha-gal syndrome
Did not mention Safety for the personnel deal with animals (Protection: Wear long pants and sleeves in grassy, rural, or animal-rearing areas, and use insect repellents containing DEET.
Removal: Use fine-tipped tweezers to pull the tick straight up without twisting, then wash the bite area with soap and water)
As regard Collection of tick samples you mention (Please clarify this )
- Semi-engorged tick females (H. dromedarii and R. annulatus) will be collected from different apparently healthy naturally infested animals from Beni-Suef governorate, Egypt
- For carrying out sheep-tick challenge, Hyalomma dromedarii engorged nymphs will be collected from previously exposed chinchilla bastard donor
- Collection of blood samples
- Three mL of blood per animal will be collected and Three mL of blood per animal will be collected and mention in biological sample 10 ml blood from ear of sheep
