Prototyping a metabolic targeted micronutrient formula for enhancing ERT outcomes in MPS patients: from genotype to formulation.

STDF project 3 ys partially approved

The problem is: Enzyme Replacement Therapy fails to fully restore cellular homeostasis for two critical pathophysiological hallmarks: persistent oxidative damage and refractory skeletal abnormalities. This results in progressive bone dysplasia, joint stiffness, and chronic pain that severely impair patient quality of life and limiting the expected outcomes of expensive, lifelong treatment.

Suggested solution: They will prototype and validate two micronutrient formulas as adjuvant therapies: a cytoprotective antioxidant formula (vitamins C and E) and a bone-support formula (vitamin K2, vitamin D3, and zinc). Using market-available formulas (approved by Egyptian Drug Authority) at the standard reference doses, the two cost-effective micronutrient formulas (nutraceuticals) expected to be prepared for industrial production to enhance ERT in Egyptian MPS      1-Side effects of Vitamins in particular Vit C?? اﻟﻤﻮاﻓﻘﺔ اﻟﻤﺴﺘﻨﯿﺮة
